Okay, we all know about Mormodes, but how many have you grown lately? We have been diligently working on developing advanced Mormodes crosses, and they are now coming of age. Their flower colors are without comparison, and their ease of culture now rivals most Catasetums. Morm. Aftermath (Mark Mills x Midnight Hooker) was a breakthrough in flower color - I hadn't seen an orchid flower with this color before!  Morm. hookeri is one of my favorite Mormodes species, with a very dark red flower and a textured lip reminiscent of black velvet – very unusual! From this cross we expect the unexpected in flower color. Will the neon orange and spots of Aftermath prevail? What about the possibility of the velvety lip of hookeri?  This is one of those “We'll have to wait and see” crosses, and I am trying to be patient!
