Notes from the breeder:

The parents used in the cross have the best quality flowers in our collection. We have waited for years to finally get female flowers on our plant of 'KG's El Supremo' so we could make this cross! Fortunately, we saved pollen from the prior year's flowering of 'Dinner Plate' and were prepared. This is going to be a top-quality batch of pileatums. Expect the flowers to have huge lips and 12-14 flowers per inflorescence in colors of ivory. Here is the provenance of 'KG's El Supremo' as described by the late Greg Allikas: “In 2002 I was in Caracas, Venezuela for the Sociedad De Orquideologia show. I bought three tiny seedlings of Ctsm. pileatum of a sib cross from Paya Orchids. They all bloomed out nicely and were similar. I named the best one 'El Supremo'. Only one of the original three has been shown, and 'El Supremo' got an AM/AOS at Florida-Caribbean judging in Aug 2009”.
