We are excited about the potential of Aussie Sunset (Lc. Fires of Spring x C. Gene May) as a parent. The petals are orange-red, flared yellow and tipped with red, and the lip is red with a contrasting yellow throat. Mem. Jim Nickou (Blc. Xanthette x Sc. Beaufort) has prestigious parents and produces bright-yellow flowers with just a bit of red on the full lip. The blooms have excellent shape, and the compact plants flower twice a year. These will bloom in sunset colors of orange and red, and most of the plants will have petals with splashes of yellow and red. Plants are expected to mature at 10” tall and produce 4-5 flowers at each blooming.
