Notes from the breeder:

This coerulea version of Valentine (C. loddigesii x C. warneri) caught our attention at the San Diego County Orchid Society spring who. We especially liked the yellow throat and large flower size. The owner had a division, and we were excited to have it! We have made several hybrids with this plant, and it's a good breeder for flower size and color. The flowers of Floralia's Azul (Lc. Memoria Jack Hayden x C. walkeriana) have good shape, color, and size, and the plant is just 8” tall. Like Valentine, this plant also flowers in early spring. In our blue breeding program, one area of focus has been large flowers on small plants. This cross will continue that theme.  These will bloom in March, early for most blues. The flowers will be large in relation to the plant stature, and the 3-4 flowers will be well presented on strong stems.
