Notes from the breeder:

Some years ago, during a visit to Sandro Cusi’s orchid nursery, Rio Verde Orchids, in Mexico, I saw a cross of (Enc. aromatica syn. incumbens x C. skinneri). There were twenty or so plants in full flower, and each had spectacular clusters of flowers varying from white to yellow and pink. All were branched and fragrant!  It was a sight I have not forgotten. You can tell from this list that we like Kyoguchi hybrids. They are excellent growers, easy to bloom, produce lots of flowers, and often fragrant. The quality of the skinneri in the cross is “top shelf,” with excellent flower shape and color. It has been a good parent, too, as it has bred the next generation of award winning skinneri.  Remembering Sandro’s cross, the thought process behind this cross is that Kyoguchi has Enc. aromatica syn. incumbensas a grandparent, and we believe it will produce excellent results.  This is one of those “can’t wait to see them bloom” crosses.
