Lc. Mini Purple v. coerulea '4n' x C. mossiae f. coerulea '4n'
- Description
SVO 10352 - 3'' pot, Blooming Size.
Notes from the breeder:
Large well-formed coerulea flowers on small plants are the goal here. The Mini Purple (C. walkeriana x L. pumila) parent is a tetraploid mutation found in a large group of clones flowered in Japan. It was a real standout, with heavier substance and larger flowers with wide segments. The plant stands 5” tall and blooms twice a year. C. mossiae '4n' has large 6.5” flowers of good shape and color, and the plant produces 4-5 blooms on strong stems in early May. I have high expectations for this cross. Mini Purple is known to flatten flower form, and mossiae gives large flower and dictates bloom period. With this cross, we are looking forward to seeing 3-4 large flowers on compact, robust plants in May. This is a great and very promising cross!
