Mem. Jim Nickou (Blc. Xanthette x Sc. Beaufort) has impressive parents and is a strong breeder in its own right. The bright-yellow flowers have just a bit of red on the lip and excellent shape. Combine this with twice-a-year flowering and compact plant stature, and you have a desirable parent. Izumi Charm (Blc. Love Sound x Lc. Melody Fair) is a larger plant, standing 14” tall. It has a compact growth habit with strong stems carrying 5-7 well-shaped, light-yellow flowers with bright crimson-red lips. Here we are looking for Izumi Charm to increase flower size and count and add a strong stem. Memoria Jim Nickou will strengthen flower color and reduce the plant stature to 10” or less. Flowers will be yellow, and the full-shaped ruffled lips will be red.
