Hisako Akatsuka (Pot. Honolulu Jewel x Blc. Scarlet Pokai) has sired several superior hybrids like Pot. Dream Circle and Pot. Hawaiian Prominence. It is known to pass along its fine flower shape, color and compact growth habit to its progeny. Spirit Flare (Slc. Circle Spirit x Lc. José Dias Castro) has beautifully-shaped purple flowers with nice purple flares on the petals and a classic full lip shape. This style of breeding will produce flower shapes that will look just like those of their larger cousins, those classic standard Cattleya plants with 7” corsage-style flowers. This grex will keep plant size to 8-10” tall and produce large 5” purple flowers of excellent shape with full ruffled lips in darker purple.
