Notes from the breeder:
C. Landate (C. leopoldii x C. aclandiae) looks like a floriferous C. aclandiae with 4-6 very showy, fragrant flowers. The 'SVO' cultivar was a gift and came from the breeding program of Roy Tokunaga. This schilleriana has the appearance of a tetraploid but hasn't been confirmed. Its flowers are exceptionally large and have surprisingly hard substance. With these three bifoliate species (aclandiae, leopoldii, schilleriana), we can be assured that the flowers will be a dark chestnut brown with darker spotting and a broad intense magenta lip, plus a spicy fragrance.
