Notes from the breeder:

While the late Loren Batchman of Casa de las Orquideas, in Solana Beach, CA was famous for his Cymbidium breeding, he also made significant improvements in Zygopetalums.  When he made the grex Zygo. Fandango, he paired two excellent parents: Zygo. Kiwi Korker with Zygo. Mishima Goddess.   Fortunately, I got to see about 30 plants in bloom and picked out the now named ‘Blooming Fool’, and why that name? Well… it blooms with 2, sturdy upright, flower spikes per growth, holding 6-8 flowers on each and does so twice a year…yep, it’s a blooming fool.  The cultivar of Kiwi Korker is surprising not only for it flower qualities but also that it can flower with 9 flowers on a stem!   Here we are looking for high flower counts on plants to bloom twice a year.
